British Land was thrilled to receive The Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This award recognises the contribution of everyone at British Land. Although a FTSE100 company, we’re relatively small in terms of employees (around 600 with 250 at our group company and the remainder at our property management subsidiary Broadgate Estates.)
Integrating social and environmental activities into every area of a business is not something you can do ‘on the side’ or in isolation, so we’d like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has worked with us over the years and, like us, believes that adopting a responsible approach to business helps improve our company, drive customer preference and deliver lasting value.
British Land creates and operates places in which people can work, shop and live. Creating Places People Prefer underpins everything we do. It drives our selection of properties; we own places where we have a high degree of control over the broader environment and which are well connected and designed. Understanding the latest trends and customer needs helps us create the setting and services that people want, differentiating our assets and driving preference for our properties.
Our Retail & Leisure portfolio is focused on regional and local multi-let assets. We provide high quality retail alongside a growing leisure offer and best in class services to deliver retail destinations in tune with modern consumer lifestyles, places where people go to shop, eat and be entertained.
Our Offices & Residential portfolio is focused on London. We have three campuses – Broadgate in the City and Regent’s Place and Paddington in the West End – and distinctive standalone properties such as The Leadenhall Building which was officially opened by the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry in 2015. It won the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects – City of London’s 2015 Building of the Year Award and the British Council of Offices’ Commercial Workplace Award for its iconic structure.
