RES is one of the world's leading renewable energy companies, with extensive experience in developing, financing, constructing and operating renewable energy infrastructure projects globally across a wide range of low carbon technologies including wind, solar and biomass.
RES’ award winning low-carbon corporate headquarters is at Beaufort Court in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire.  Using a wind turbine, solar panels, biomass crops and natural cooling, this office embodies the company's commitment to corporate citizenship and power for good. This commitment was recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category in 2005.
RES has been at the forefront of wind energy development for over 30 years.  It built its first wind farm, Carland Cross in 1992 – a significant milestone not only for RES but for the future of renewables in the UK, as it was only the second wind farm in the UK. RES has since developed and/or constructed more than 120 wind farms and solar parks around the world with a combined capacity of over 7,500MW. Projects include the 214MW King Mountain project in Texas, formally the world’s largest wind farm, and Webberville solar park which, at 30 MW, is the largest photovoltaic array in Texas.
Success in established markets has enabled RES to expand into new markets such as South Africa, Chile and Turkey.  This year, RES was again awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, this time for International Trade, in recognition of extraordinary business success in growing revenues from international markets. It is the ability to act quickly and decisively when market conditions are right, adapt to changing market conditions and structure its portfolio of developments accordingly that has provided this success.
Today, the business is meeting the needs of a rapidly evolving energy market and it is RES’ mission is to be a leader in this age of disruptive technology change, driving vital energy transition by providing a diverse and growing range of energy and infrastructure projects and services that will be key to creating a low carbon future.
