METTLER TOLEDO Safeline X-ray Ltd
(MT-SLXR) is the global market leader for x-ray inspection equipment.
We design and manufacture innovative x-ray solutions which are used by food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide for contaminant detection and quality control.
As well as providing outstanding detection of glass shards, metal fragments, mineral stone, calcified bone, and high-density plastic and rubber compounds, MT-SLXR systems are simultaneously capable of performing a wide variety of product integrity checks, such as:
Measuring zoned and gross mass
Identifying missing or broken products
Monitoring fill levels
Identifying products trapped in the packaging seal
Checking for damaged packaging
Detecting agglomerates, such as flavour and powder lumps, and
Measuring head space
The rising number of product recalls and high profile safety scares mean the safety of food and pharmaceuticals is a growing concern worldwide. As a result, manufacturers are increasingly subjecting their products to x-ray inspection to protect consumers and their brand reputations, as well as conform to national and international regulations.
Installing an x-ray system can help food manufacturers meet retailers’ codes of practice, as well as adhere to the following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)-based Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-approved food safety standards:
The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
X-ray inspection can also help pharmaceutical manufacturers comply with industry-specific local regulations and legislation, as well as Good Manufacturing Practice:
21 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Part 210
21 CFR Part 211
21 CFR Part 11
