Founded in 1998, for the last sixteen years Impax has been dedicated to investing in resource efficiency and environmental markets.
We aim to identify the best investment opportunities globally in order to deliver superior, long-term, risk-adjusted returns for our clients, which include institutional investors from all over the world. We employ sixty people, with offices in London, Hong Kong, New York and Portland, Oregon. We manage over £2.5 billion (as at 30 April 2014), in both listed equity and private equity infrastructure funds.
At a time of rising wealth in developing countries and an expanding global population, we are seeing many compelling new investment opportunities created by the growing scarcity of the earth’s natural resources and the demand for cleaner, more efficient products and services. Interest and demand in these sectors is growing rapidly as investors become increasingly concerned about resource scarcity, rising pollution, energy security and climate change. These trends will have lasting effects on today’s and future generations.
Our listed equity funds provide investors with broad access to the diverse alternative energy, energy efficiency, water, waste and food and agriculture markets. Our infrastructure team invests predominantly to fund the construction and improve the operations of renewable energy projects.
Ian Simm, Chief Executive commented:
“We are honoured to receive The Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This award recognises Impax’s specialist focus, deep expertise and pioneering role since 1998 in supporting the expansion of companies and projects that are contributing to the development of a more sustainable society.”
