Employee-owned Gripple received the award for its innovative and sustainable product base and impressive performance across all aspects of sustainability.
As the world’s leading manufacturer of wire joining devices for construction and agricultural markets, Gripple vowed to reduce its carbon emissions by 10 per cent in 2010 and designated the award’s announcement day as Sustainable Development 10:10 day.
Demonstrating old and new carbon-free delivery methods, a cyclist, a runner, a rickshaw, canoes and a hydrogen-powered vehicle, transported Gripple products to its sister company, Loadhog, two miles away. The runner arrived first!
