Floortex have taken the chair mat concept, a product range designed to protect floors from the damage caused by chair castors as well as providing ergonomic benefits, and built a Global market leading position through unique product innovation and creative brand marketing. From their facilities in the UK, Germany and the USA, they export to over 30 other countries worldwide including Canada, Australia, Russia, Japan and throughout the Middle East.

The Floortex strategy has been to develop a comprehensive offering of chair mats in a variety of materials including their flag-ship range of Floortex Original Polycarbonate products. The continual development of new & innovative products has been a key element in the successful growth and this is set to continue by targeting new market opportunities with unique product propositions.
With a manufacturing base just outside Belfast, Northern Ireland, Floortex are constantly working with the technical & material experts to formulate new propositions. The sales and marketing team then produce genuine and compelling strategies to take the new concepts to markets around the world.
The phenomenal growth of the e-commerce sector in developed markets has also enabled a closer connection with the end users of Floortex products. Steve continues, “Selling through consumer focused websites has enabled us to get our marketing material in front of the general public more effectively than via traditional trade channels. When we are competing against major local manufactures, in overseas markets, it’s very important that consumers get to see the benefits of choosing our unique products. Our success in the e-commerce sector is set to continue as we are continually improving our knowledge of the channel and how best to maximise this huge opportunity.”
The product offering combined with, bespoke logistics operations in both Europe and North America, exceptional customer services and a dedicated sales & marketing team, has given Floortex a totally unique market position.
The company has also identified its corporate responsibilities across all areas of its activity and worked to limit its environmental impact. Indeed, the wind turbine installed on the factory site in 2011 supplies up to 30% of the energy used to manufacture the range.
