2016 not only celebrates The Queen’s 90th birthday, but also Cheaney’s 130th anniversary. For Cheaney, receiving The Queen’s Award demonstrates how quality products ‘Made in England’ are recognised the world over.
In 2009, cousins Jonathan and William Church saw the brand’s potential and conducted a MBO of Cheaney. They now own and operate the company and are committed to continuing the production of high quality Goodyear Welted shoes, from the cutting out of the leather to the final polishing, just as it was in 1886.
Today the company exports the world over, with a diverse range of products ranging from the classic to the contemporary. Their vision for the future is to grow and develop the Cheaney brand, making the most of the huge, innate skill potential that lies within the business, increasing exports and extending their retail portfolio, but above all by continuing their commitment to producing the finest, handcrafted footwear, entirely made in England.
