As the company responsible for providing water and water recycling services for the East of England we’re uniquely placed to help push our region forward and ensure it continues to flourish.
Five years ago we began a journey – Love Every Drop – to put water at the heart of a whole new way of living and change the way we all use and value water.
We want to lead by example and raise awareness about this precious resource; illustrating how essential it is to life, to people and the environment – as well as a vibrant and growing economy.
The region we serve already has one of the fastest growing populations in the UK and we’re in one of the areas most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Our vision for the future is clear and simple: we are asking businesses, communities and individuals to think differently about the water we all use. We want to create a more sustainable future, making sure we use this precious resource to meet our needs, and those of industry and agriculture, now and long into the future in spite of the significant challenges which lay ahead.
In just five years we have managed to half the embodied carbon in the assets we build, put 200,000 children through our education programme, installed free water saving devices in the homes of over 87,000 customers, driven leakage in our water network to an industry record low, worked with our customers to bring down avoidable blockages in our sewers by 44% and now 99.9% of our most important wildlife sites are in favourable or recovering condition.
Achieving this award recognises the progress we’ve already made to bring to life our commitment to sustainability, which sits at the heart of our Love Every Drop strategy, but it also challenges us to continue innovating and transforming the way we work and think.
We’re passionate about Love Every Drop.
